Some years ago, we had a remarkable experience performing music in Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain. The wonderful Galician band, Milladoiro, invited us to perform with them to over 20,000 incredible fans of the music. A visit to this town is life changing and having the privilege of sharing music in the square of Plaza do Obradoiro was an honor. El Camino de Santiago (the way of St. James) is the pilgrimage route to the shrine of the Apostle St. James whose remains lie in the great Cathedral in the heart of the square.

The second jig was written after a joyous midnight frolic down the bog road with my sister, niece and nephews in my attempt to show them the magic of a star filled west of Ireland night. The giggles shared that night proved the notion worked!

During the course of the recording, a treasured picture of my grandmother from her school days in Ireland sat behind me …it read “Canbrack Girls 1911”.
